Large scale - DOC community funding shoutout

Large scale community funding to help protect threatened species and eco systems doesn't come around everyday, and it's great to see DOC carrying on with this fund.

We dug into the last fund to look at an example of what was funded to share a sense of what succeeded - see below.

Ōhiwa Headland Sanctuary Trust

Eastern Ōhiwa and Waiotahe Catchment Restoration

Expand predator control on Ōhiwa headland and extend into the Waiotahe River catchment area. This will protect threatened coastal ecosystems and important seabird habitat and provide benefits for threatened species including matuku-hūrepo, whio, kārearea, Northern New Zealand dotterel, and reef heron.

If your group is dreaming big, then we suggest looking into this. - link here https://www.doc.govt.nz/get-involved/funding/doc-community-fund/
